Maui, Hawaii?

Maui may be known for many things, but for me it will always represent the most magnificent whale sightings that I could have ever hoped to imagine!

I literally woke up this morning, opened the curtains and before my very eyes I saw the
familiar signs of spouts in the water, followed by a whale breaching the surface. There’s been talk about whale sightings since we arrived on the ship and I have never had the pleasure of this experience first hand until today.

It was the most spectacular encounter and through out the day, we witnessed it over and over. This is the time of year when whales and their babies number in the thousands and it will be one of my greatest memories.

The expanse of water you see in the clip also provided an opportunity to spot several more whales, but I was unable to capture one on video at the exact moment.

After our day driving around Maui, we returned to the shops near port, and of course did some more shopping!

Now, all I have to do is break the news to Greg that one of my purchases was a new piece of luggage so I would be able to transport a few little things I’ve picked up along the way… Hmmm, maybe I’ll save that bit of news for another day! LOL

Tomorrow bright and early we will be up and off the ship to our morning swim with the dolphins in the wild. This should prove to be another memorable experience to add to the growing list…?
